There
is far more to spirituality than a single world view. If one does not take the
time nor make the effort to study another's faith or religious heritage one
cannot appreciate the human species. The purpose of this document is to provide those beginning a study of
the world's major religions with a few useful and selected sources with which
to start. In addition to net links, it will include a brief but valuable
selected bibliography of texts not usually found elsewhere among the

This site contains many links to most
of the Major Religions of the World. It will be very useful to students.
2. Facets of Religion (Virtual
Library--Religion
This site provides information to
facilitate the study of most of the world's religions, including translations
of scriptures and other important documents, explanatory essays and resource
links.
3. Mysticism in World
Religions
Shared aspects of mystical thought are
comparatively displayed as they occur in the scriptures and writings of the
major systems of Religious Thought.
4. A Goddess Bibliography:
Extensive and arranged by geographical
regions.
ATHEISM 1. Religious Atheisms: A Guide for the Complete
Atheist
This site deals with atheistic views
and perspectives within the context of numerous systems of Religious Thought.
Fairly extensive.
TAOISM 1. Taoism: Translations of the Tao Te Ching and The Art of War
2. Taoism
A hodgepodge of resources and links
including texts from the writing of Chuang Tse.
3. The Taoism Information Page
While it contains useful information
for those unfamiliar with Taoism, it also includes scholarly and philosophical
articles, many translations of several Taoist texts (including Crowley's
translation of the Tao Te Ching, the relationship of Taoism to Alchemy,
bibliographies and resource information.
4. An Introduction to Oriental
Medicine
This site includes basic principles
related to Yin/Yang applications, diagnosis and treatment, herbs, acupuncture,
etc. in relation to the Three Treasures, qi, Jing and Shen.
5. The Taoist Approach to
Conflict Resolution: How to Overcome Without Fighting.
This essay embodies and explains a
number of important Taoist principles.
6. I Ching: An Electronic Oracle.
Type in your question and get a quick
response. It's sort of fun.
7. Books on Tai Chi Chuan and
Taoism:
A useful bibliography that also
contains a section on Chinese culture.

1. The Irminsul AEttir
Outlines the nature of a resurgent
religious movement embodied in the religion of Asatru. Asatru venerates the
pre-christian Gods, Goddesses, and Landvaettir (land spirits) associated with
trees, other objects and places. Information within and links connected from
this site will lead you to a rich source of information related to this area of
contemporary religious activity and thought.
2. Heathen: Website of the Odinnic Rite.
At this site, Odinism is not
distinguished from Asatru. In addition to being rich with information and
links, it has a published Ritual which is appropriate to the season, and a
listing of current festivals for a 2 month period.
PHALLICISM AND RELIGION
We have not yet had much success in finding
sophisticated and appropriate net links for this subject. We would be very
grateful for any help.
Sex As Symbol. by Alvin Boyd Kuhn.
This site presents the text of Mr. Kuhn's book of the same title. It contains a
pontificating diatribe couched in archaic eloquence about and against the
efforts of religious institutions to fetter the human mind by perverting our
understanding of sexual symbolism and its significance. In particular, Chapter
XIV, "The Language of Lingam and Yoni" and Chapter XV,
"Phallicism Transfigured," should be entertaining and, depending on
your own background, probably informative as well,
ZOROASTRIANISM
ZOROASTRIAN SITE
with Great Links. The
scriptures of Zoroastrianism. This ancient religion was the dominant world
religion at the time of Jesus, and had a tremendous influence on Judaism,
Christianity, and Islam. Also included is information on Avestan and
Indo-european languages, The Avesta and Zoroastrian Archives.
